DAAR is working with the Loudoun
Times Mirror in producing a weekly column in the Homes
section and is pleased to offer members an opportunity to write for the column to showcase their expertise. Writers will be asked to produce a 300-350 word piece periodically on topics related to homeownership such as preparing for open houses, tips for pricing your home, mortgage lending, staging, renovation financing, budget basics, sprucing up a home's exterior, moving tips, home inspections, etc.

With a new community forum for members, improved member resource sections and a streamlined registration system, DAAR's website has been redesigned to better serve DAAR members and consumers looking for real estate information in Loudoun County and beyond.

As a REALTOR®, you have so many demands on your time. Between
listing appointments, showings, paperwork to complete and advertising to

contracts, the issues discussed at the county government center can cost
your clients hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Each time your
elected officials vote on real estate issues, they either put money into
or take money out of your pockets
Responding to the continued stream of views expressed over the proposed Bay Act regulations, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors (LCBOS) agreed to delay consideration of a Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act Ordinance proposal until Tuesday, September 21st to allow time to conduct outreach efforts in the community. The LCBOS began moving forward with the Bay Act regulation proposal in late in 2008. In response to less-than positive feedback received from the public and Homeowner Associations (HOAs), in particular, at a May public hearing on the issue, the LCBOS will conduct outreach meetings in several communities and with HOAs who were not part of the original stakeholder group on this issue.
